Plumbee Africa is a Kenyan child nutrition company making safe, nourishing foods for babies, children, schools, and families, combining real farm-grown ingredients, nutrition science, and responsible sourcing to support healthy growth.

We started Plumbee because children deserve food that is safe, nourishing, affordable, and made with real responsibility, not just filled stomachs, but food that truly supports growth. At the heart of Plumbee is the belief that good child nutrition should not be a luxury. It should be made from real ingredients, guided by nutrition science, checked for safety, and connected to the farmers and women who help grow and prepare the food.

Plumbee products are made in Kenya at our child nutrition production facility in Nyandarua. We chose to build close to farming communities because good food begins with good ingredients.

We believe feeding a child is one of the greatest acts of trust.

Plumbee makes nutritious foods for different stages of childhood, including baby and toddler foods, school nutrition products, family and institutional nutrition products. Our two main brands are Tano for baby and toddler nutrition, and Nowrished for schools, families, and community nutrition.

Plumbee works with women farmers and women-led groups through a local sourcing and micro-processing model. Instead of moving all value to the factory, we support women to participate in early-stage processing such as cleaning, sorting, slicing, drying, and preparing selected ingredients closer to where they are grown. Where possible, we use solar drying and community-based micro-processing hubs to create income opportunities, and keep more value within local farming communities.
